Quickbooks Integration Ebay

By integrating QuickBooks Commerce and eBay, sellers can seamlessly manage their inventory, order and streamline operations, which can enhance their business growth. Before integrating eBay account with QuickBooks Commerce, it is essential that sellers should review their Product SKUs on eBay. It is because QuickBooks Commerce uses SKUs to identify as well as match inventory between eBay and QuickBooks Commerce. It is done to facilitates flawless inventory updates and streamline order management processes. Before moving further, sellers should log in to their eBay account and make sure that each product and its variants have unique SKUs.

Integrating your eBay Store with QuickBooks Commerce

The entire process of integration is divided into four steps-

  1. Installation Process
  2. Dashboard
  3. Settings
  4. Errors

Installing the eBay App

  1.   In QuickBooks Commerce app, go to main navigation bar and then click on ‘Browse Apps’
  2.   Now, click on eCommerce and then select ‘eBay built by QuickBooks Commerce’
  3.   Next, do click the ‘Install App’ button
  4.   Thereafter, users will be asked to connect their eBay store.
  5.   Now, do select your eBay site Country from the drop-down menu and then click ‘Continue’
  6.   If sellers are selling their products on eBay in multiple countries then they will have to connect the respective eBay sales channels to QuickBooks Commerce. It is done to identify from where orders are coming.
  7.   Sellers are supposed to set up connection for each and every country he is doing business (one sales channel per country). Thereafter, they will be redirected to the eBay homepage where they have to Sign In.
  8.   The next pop-up screen will ask for confirmation in allowing their eBay store to integrate with QuickBooks Commerce.
  9.   Next, do click ‘I Agree’.
  10. The users will now be redirected back to QuickBooks Commerce to complete their installation with the help of set-up wizard.

  1.   Price List and Locations Sync

By QuickBooks Commerce installation wizard, users should

  • either select a pre-existing price list and stock location for their channel, 
  • or create a new price list and stock location.

 It should be noted that name of sales channel will be used in the newly created price list and stock locations. The newly created or selected price list will be used to fill the prices of imported products on eBay as well as in syncing updated prices in the future.

When no price list is selected then QuickBooks Commerce willanalytically use the default price list.

Thereafter, the newly created or selected stock location will be used to prepare and adjust stock levels of imported products from eBay as well as syncing updated stock levels in the future.

When no stock location is selected, then QuickBooks Commerce will methodically use your account’s Default Primary Location, which is found under Defaults Settings.

On Main Navigation Bar, go to Settings, and click on Configurations and your Default Settings will appear. 


  1.   Product SKU

In Product SKU, the installation wizard will help you in information regarding the best usage of SKU aliasing capability of managing different SKUs across multiple sales channels.

If users are setting up their own QuickBooks Commerce account with a single eBay Channel or managing the same SKUs across different channels then do skip this step.

Next, do click ‘Confirm’ and it will complete your installation. Now, users will be redirected to their channel’s Dashboard tab.

At this moment, QuickBooks Commerce is effectively connected with your eBay store but there is no synchronization for products nor orders that has occurred with eBay.


  1.   Dashboard

Dashboard exhibits operational and analytical data of your eBay store’s connection strength as well as configurations with QuickBooks Commerce. It will also exhibit bundle of health checks which will guide users to troubleshoot as well as fix many issues that might impede updates or order imports. By clicking on ‘Re-run Checks’ button, users can request to re-run the diagnosis and can refresh their screen browser tab, until the diagnostics are done properly. On daily basis, diagnostics are run on QuickBooks Commerce for your channel to ensure that you get updated results on your channel dashboard.


  1.   Settings

This tab comprises of two min sections- Settings and Sync Options that helps users to specify configurations for their eBay store and comprises defaults that can be modified.

The Settings section comprises of 6 main configurations:

Channel Name

Users should assign a custom name for their channel to identify them within their app.

Default Tax Treatment

If any new orders is successfully imported into QuickBooks Commerce then it will have tax treatment set to whatever value it is selected (Exclusive or Inclusive).

Default Price List

If price sync is not inactivated, then any changes done to Variant prices or selection of a different default price list would generate price updates to the linked eBay variants.

If user have not inactivated price sync then any change done to Variant prices or selection of a different default price list would generate price updates to the linked eBay variants. If price under the default price list is nil or O then eBay will not get any notifications. It is done to prevent any type of accidental zeroing out of price on eBay.

Default Stock Location

In this setting, any order that is imported into QuickBooks from your eBay store will be assigned to the location selected. During the import of product, stock of your eBay product will also get assigned to this location. In case, if stock level sync is not inactivated then any stock level changes done on the location or selection of a different default stock location would trigger stock level updates to the linked eBay variants.

Default Tax For Orders

The orders which are imported into QuickBooks Commerce will be using the tax amounts that are provided by eBay to calculate the tax rates applied to the orders. If tax type gets selected then QuickBooks Commerce will automatically apply the selected tax rate to the product line items for newly imported orders.

Default Shipping Tax For Orders

After selection of the tax type by user, QuickBooks Commerce will automatically apply the selected tax rate to shipping line items of the recently imported orders. The Sync Options section comprises of 5 options which controls the disabling of syncs for different objects. They are further checked by default whenever the channel gets newly installed.


  1.   Errors

If users are installing a new channel then it is highly recommended that they should resolve all errors in the dashboard before enabling any sync between their eBay and QuickBooks Commerce account. For viewing a list of all processing or operational errors, users should navigate to the Errors tab, and you can view error logs. Finally, everything in your eBay is successfully synced with your QuickBooks Commerce account without any errors.
